Just added these gorgeous semiprecious specimens to the shop - petrified palm root with sterling silver and dendritic opal with 14k gold ball/post and wrapping ✨ one is an actual fossilized root and the other a stone with inclusions that form in the shape of root like lines within another stone.

Blown glass beauties new to the shop this week!

This type of glass is known as cased glass where more than one color is layered. In these pieces a translucent colored glass is covered with clear glass to create this effect known as sommerso, Italian for “submerged”, it’s a technique that originated and was perfected by Murano Italian glass makers before becoming popular with studio glass makers around the world.
